Aghor Foundation

Aghor Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to combining service and spirituality. The foundation’s projects embrace and put into practice the timeless teachings of Aghor, an ancient mystical yogic lineage with roots in Varanasi, India. The foundation is located in the southern part of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. A beautiful campus comprises the Bal Ashram, Eye Hospital and Anjali School, overlooking the sacred river Ganges and the city of Varanasi.

At Aghor Foundation, under the compassionate guidance of our revered Babaji, humanitarian services hold a central place in our mission. We believe in the inherent dignity and worth of every individual, and it is our duty to alleviate suffering and promote the well-being of all beings. Our social service projects include emergency relief, healthcare initiatives, educational support, women’s empowerment, food assistance, and environmental conservation.

Our Founder and Guru

Baba Harihar Ramji is the founder and spiritual leader of the foundation. He is a disciple of Aghoreshwar Bhagwan Ramji, founder of the modern traditions of Aghor. Babaji’s teachings inspire individuals to connect with themselves through Sadhana (spiritual practice) and Seva (selfless service).

Babaji founded Sonoma Ashram in 1991 in Sonoma, California and the Aghor Foundation in Varanasi in 2001. Most recently, in 2020, he established Upasana Hilltop Sanctuary in Ft. Bragg, California.  He is a role model and spiritual beacon for anyone seeking inspiration and guidance. He radiates love and embodies living with purpose.
